Our purpose-driven not-for-profit is seeking expressions of interest for new board members.

Have you been considering joining a board? Do you have a community-minded attitude, with a background in business?

Our organisation has been around for quite some time, and some of our board members will be retiring this year. Therefore, we are on the lookout for community-oriented business people who would be interested to join our board.

Synergy Group operates from a HACCP and ACO certified factory in Tweed Heads South where we offer services in  packaging, labelling and processing food products for local food producers and manufacturers. Excitingly we are also aiming to launch our own product into the market. We are looking to fill two vacancies, ideally someone who can help us bootstrap our new product with a lean start-up methodology and then help with scaling, also someone with experience in grant writing and fundraising.

About the role

The following professional background and skill-set of applicants would be highly regarded:

  • Experience with grant writing
  • Experience with fundraising
  • Experience in scaling a start-up
  • Experience in the food sector
  • Experience with the NDIS
  • Experience in the disability sector

This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring and credible volunteer Directors to join our trusted and integral community organisation; particularly those with a strong fundraising, commercial, marketing or start-up background. Experience with, or understanding of opportunities for people living with disabilities, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), is a great advantage.

These positions are non-remunerated. There are 6 board meetings at the Synergy Group factory per year.
